The Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences: enhanced phytoremediation technology

Laboratory experiments using Alfalfa and Eucalyptus plants were carried out. Alfalfa is a model plant and performed well in PAH removal in their screening test. Eucalyptus is widely distributed in South China and it can be applied for TCE remediation. Our screening test showed that eucalyptus can enhance TCE removal. Thus, eucalyptus and alfalfa were used for TCE and PAH co-contamination remediation experiments.
