Applying enhanced phytoremediation

Pilot tests in field in south of Sweden were initiated 2022 applying enhanced phytoremediation of soil contaminated with wood impregnation chemicals. The plot of 450 m2 was equipped with 28 iron electrodes inserted to the depth of 2 m and five groundwater wells were installed for the monitoring of the remediation progress.

Groundwater samples are being collected once a month and analysed of pH, electrical conductivity, redox, metals and PAH. Ryegrass was sawn on a ca 10 m2 plot. The experiment is ongoing.
